Eversince their comebacks in October 2010, Indonesians keep mumbling about that British Royal Crackling Icey yet Chocolatey; Walls Magnum. And eversince this Little Royal Pop-up Cafe established, the queue of Magnum Seekers increases; Longer and Even Longer. Yup, you know what I'm talking about; The first ever Magnum Cafe in the entire Mother Earth! Happy to know that Indonesia is the first ever country to bring this concept to life while also be the country with the least Magnum Variants besides USA. However, I still thought "WOW. We are the first country who make this epic concept come true. Hell yeah. C'est Magnumifique!"
Well, I get the ambiance concept; Modern yet Classy. Just like the Crack supposed to be! Outside there's a little number of the cutey patootey Magnum Benches for the Take Away seekers to enjoy their Custom-Dipped Magnums, and inside is more Victorian-like. Chandeliers, classy sofas, brown+white+gold all the way, plus, the scent of the precious Belgian Chocolate! It'll teases the queuers the most. That's why the queue's getting longer and even loooooonger each day tee hee hee~
We don't take much of photos here, at first I want to take photos with The Lord and The Lady (that's how Seekers here called those who seated 'em), but I'm just too damn shy, so I forget that silly plan (even though there's a kiddo who took photos with them before the first session of Singing Fountain besides the cafe begins! HELL NO!). We also don't eat much; only both of the Kingdom's recommended desserts that fortunately filled us up! C'EST MAGNUMIFIQUE!!!
My sisters crack named Palais du Royal. It's a honey toast sprinkled with selected assorted fruits plus syruped Dark Cherry and Choco-nut-dipped Naked Vanilla Magnum with Belgian Chocolate drizzles. Forget the sour Dark Cherry part, the Magnum and the fruits blend together in harmony with the toast. So Called Ripe-yet-Magnumificent.
While this is my Crack: Waffle de Aristocrat Prince's Bite. A fluffy-yet-huge waffle, with Caramelized Banana, plus Magnum Classic 'disguised' in Belgian Chocolate dip (again???) sprinkled with Coco Pops and Topped with Puff Pastry Rose drizzled with Caramel and Belgian Chocolate. That too-damn-sweet-caramelized-banana neutralized by the fancy-yet-creamy vanilla Magnum crack. That's why it leaves a Caramelish-yet-chocolatey-creamy-fluff sensation after eating it (even it lasts for the entire day!!!)
Here's a little notes from me before you go straight to the cafe:
- If you decided to order menus with the Magnum Scoops make sure you know these two Magnumific terms on the menu list: Prince's Bite = One Magnum is added to your Pastry. While Queen's Bite = Double Magnums are added to your Pastry.
- For your own Convenience, I suggest you to come on Weekdays. Why? Because the queuers will getting longer on Weekends and it'll took more time for those who hate waiting. Just like 'Diner Dash' in a Royal version.
- It'll took more time for your order to came out if it's a signature menu or monthly specials. I've experienced this with that waffle
- In some events they also open the Minute Spot; a super tiny version of Magnum Cafe. They have opened it in two events; Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival at JIExpo Kemayoran last March. Because it's a Music Festival, they also get those cute Magnum Seller guys on a moving carriage on duty. Its for those Magnum Seekers who attend this event and want to bring the Magnum to the venue. And the latest is on the curated epicness Brightspot Market 2nd Anniversary edition at Pacific Place last April. On this event all the crews were dressed like our Magnumific Lord and Lady! So make sure if your eyes catch the familiar, Magnumific ambiance, stop and stand by there ;)
